Junior class entries are for the youth in the State of Wisconsin that are affiliated with one or more of our recognized youth organizations, ie: 4-H FFA.

Junior Class is judged in a Face to Face judging style. Face to Face judging means that all entries are brought before the judge, the youth that is presenting the entry talks with the Judge and is awarded a placing once finished. ALL Junior class entries receive a premium. The youth MUST be present during face to face judging. If for some unforeseen reason a youth is not available for face to face judging, the Columbia County Fair Board of Directors requires a written explanation as to why the youth is not available and it must be approved by the Board of Directors prior to July 1st 2026. All Entries MUST remain on display until 4:00 pm Sunday August 2, 2026, if you remove your entry prior to 4:00 pm Sunday August 2, 2026 you will forfeit your premium.

Open Class entries are for anyone, yes anyone that is not affiliated with a recognized youth organization. Columbia County Fair is an open fair, meaning that anyone can enter in our fair and receive a premium for an entry that has been awarded a placing. Open class entries are judged on the “Single Placing” style judging system.

Single Placing style judging means that all items entered in each class are judged against one another and only the top four are awarded a premium. This does include small animals and livestock.

All entries MUST remain on display until 4:00 pm, August 2, 2026. If you remove your entry before 4:00pm, August 2, 2026 you forfeit your premium.
